Mikhail Acherkan
Mikhail Acherkan is a U.S. Army veteran and immigration attorney whose career has taken him from active duty service in a refugee camp to the federal courts.
Mikhail Acherkan graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2025 and joined Scott D. Pollock & Associates in the summer of 2026.
More About Mikhail
While still in law school, Mr. Acherkan gained experience litigating immigration cases in federal court, including matters affecting the legal status of international students. He is passionate about helping individuals pursue opportunities in the United States and protecting the rights of those facing immigration-related challenges.
Before joining the firm, he served as an Assistant County Attorney in Iowa. Prior to his legal career, Mikhail served on active duty in the United States Army, including work in a refugee camp supporting Afghan refugees — an experience that deepened his commitment to the challenges faced by displaced individuals and families. He is fluent in Russian.
