Jacob S. Klaiman

Mr. Klaiman represents clients in all immigration matters, including employment-based, family-based, naturalization, citizenship, and a variety of humanitarian based cases, such as asylum and special immigrant juvenile status (SIJS). He primarily practices employment-based immigration, including F, H, O, P, TN, PERM, EB-1, NIW, and 212(d)(3) waivers.

Jacob has experience on a vast variety of employment-based, family-based, and humanitarian immigration cases including removal defense. Prior to joining the firm, Jacob worked in both the public and private sector working with immigrants and their families.

More About Jacob

For his volunteer work with ProBAR along the Mexican border in Texas, Jacob was recognized as a 2024 ABA Commission on Immigration Pro Bono Champion and was featured on the 2024 Pro Bono Honor Roll. He was also featured in a Teen Vogue article for issues pertaining to student visas in 2025. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Spanish from the University of Maryland and is fluent in Spanish.

EXPERIENCE

  • Adjunct Professor, Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Jake teaches the Professional Identity Formation course at his alma mater law school, a required course for all first-year law students.
  • Teacher’s Assistant, Immigration Practicum. Jake led a group of his peers from Loyola University Chicago School of Law to the Mexican-American border in Harlingen, Texas, to help assist new arrivals, volunteer at the Port Isabel Detention Center, and participate in various immigration clinics along the southern border in partnership with the American Bar Association’s ProBAR.
  • Rapid Response Refugee Clinic, Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Jake represented clients in partnership with Loyola University Chicago School of Law, School of Social Work, and the Kovler Center in a holistic approach to Immigration relief.
