Sponsor

A sponsor is a person willing to take on the financial responsibility for an immigrant, helping them establish permanent residency. Sponsors can refer to a family member or place of employment. A sponsor must complete Form I-864 and appear before the U.S. Consulate to submit their application for an immigrant visa and adjustment of status.
