An immigration court hearing is a civil administrative proceeding that determines whether a foreign-born individual has violated immigration laws, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security. An immigration judge will decide whether the respondent will be permitted to stay in the country, granted certain protections, or deported to their country of origin.
